Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Operations Team at LightForce Orthodontics. In this role, you will support the reliability and performance of production equipment and facility systems through the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. As a member of a collaborative maintenance team, your work will directly contribute to equipment uptime, product quality, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their technical skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position provides the opportunity to build expertise in production equipment, troubleshooting techniques, and maintenance best practices while working closely with Production, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.

The Maintenance Technician I/II is responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment support activities in accordance with established procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. Through continuous learning and hands-on experience, this role contributes to the reliability and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations while supporting LightForce's mission, values, and commitment to operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems in accordance with established procedures and schedules.

• Complete routine inspections and daily maintenance rounds, identifying and correcting potential issues before they impact production.

• Document all maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and corrective actions within the CMMS.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process equipment issues within the scope of training and experience.

• Support equipment reliability and uptime through effective preventive maintenance and timely response to equipment issues.

• Maintain tools, spare parts, maintenance work areas, and equipment in a safe and organized condition.

• Follow all company safety policies, GMP requirements, SOPs, LOTO procedures, and environmental requirements.

• Support production teams by responding to equipment concerns and minimizing operational downtime.

• Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, safety, and performance.

• Employ Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles to improve workplace organization and operational efficiency.

• Identify opportunities for equipment, process, and maintenance improvements and communicate recommendations to maintenance leadership.

• Assist with equipment installation, modification, and maintenance-related improvement projects as assigned.

• Escalate complex equipment failures, recurring issues, and safety concerns to senior maintenance personnel when appropriate.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; Technical certificate, Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing, Mechanical Systems related field. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, military experience, apprenticeship programs and relevant work experience will be considered.

• Experience in a professional-level manufacturing environment is a plus.

• Experience with additive manufacturing is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Suite, Google Workspace and ability to learn CMMS software.

• Strong attention to detail, organization and documentation skills.

• Understanding of the importance of proper documentation and data traceability.

• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), work instructions and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.

• Must be able to work well independently and Collaboratory with cross functional teams (production, engineering, and R&D).

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use common hand and power tools.

• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.

• Must have the ability to work safely and responsibly in a manufacturing environment following all safety and environmental requirements.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Self-motivated, dependable, eager to learn new equipment, technologies and maintenance practices.

• Ability to assist in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities releated to reliability and performance.

• Ability to participate in on-call and off shift support as required.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders and perform physical work for extended periods

• Use hand and powered tools, manipulate parts and hardware

• Ability to work in manufacturing environments with exposure to heat, noise, chemicals and airborne particles while using required PPE.

• Ability to safely access equipment located above shoulder height, below waist level and in confined or restricted access areas as authorized and trained.
