ABOUT THE ROLE
As Finance Manager MEA, you lead finance for Harmattan AI's Middle East and Africa region, based in Morocco and covering the region. You start as the single finance owner and build a team of country finance correspondents as the footprint grows. You partner with commercial teams on government clients and on the financing of industrial investment projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance & Accounting
- Own financial management of the region's entities: accounting, controlling, and monthly and annual closings on the Group calendar.
- Run vendor invoicing, payroll entries and payments within Group controls.
- Coordinate local tax, statutory compliance and audits with advisors across the region.
- Support the intercompany framework: invoicing, management fees and transfer pricing documentation.
Trade Finance & Banking
- Manage local banking relationships and cash positions, in coordination with Group Treasury.
- Structure and manage letters of credit, guarantees and trade finance instruments for government contracts.
- Design financing solutions for specific projects and countries with banking partners.
- Set up banking and finance for new entities created in the region.
Business Partnering & Growth
- Act as finance business partner to sales, business development and marketing teams.
- Build and maintain long-term business plans supporting industrial investment projects.
- Support the financial ramp-up of industrial projects, working in project mode with operational teams.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Around 10 years of senior finance experience, including ownership of multiple legal entities in an international group.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; a Master's or local accounting qualification is preferred.
- Solid accounting, controlling and corporate finance foundations, including month-end closings and coordination of external firms.
- Hands-on experience with trade finance: letters of credit, bank guarantees and financing structuring.
- Deep knowledge of the Moroccan banking and administrative environment, with exposure to Gulf and other MEA markets.
- Experience as finance partner to commercial teams; work with government or institutional clients is a plus.
- Autonomy, rigor and pragmatism when working far from headquarters.
- Fluency in French and English is required; Arabic is a plus.
