Your role at MOBE
MOBE Guides serve as an extension of the participant’s medical team. Guides act as facilitators of behavior change, educators, and accountability partners—helping participants evaluate their habits and beliefs, identify opportunities for healthier living, leverage health coaching techniques and personalized health education to strengthen self-management skills, and take action toward better health.
Our Guides partner with participants to develop a comprehensive plan for health improvement, designed to drive meaningful, lasting behavior change. This plan is grounded in the participant’s own health-related interests, concerns, and goals, and is informed by data sources such as survey results, lifestyle and clinical metrics, evidence-based optimal health targets, and any treatment plan goals prescribed by the participant’s healthcare team. The plan guides participants to take targeted actions that develop self-management skills, strengthen self-efficacy, reduce the risk or impact of chronic conditions, and support sustained, meaningful health improvements.
Our Guides are caring, empathetic, open-minded, and confident in their interactions with the participant and must be able to develop and sustain a relationship through both telephonic and digital interactions. Our MOBE Guides deliver our evidence-based program to help participants reframe their thoughts, understanding of their health and healthcare decisions and take control of their health. The role is non-clinical and must have the ability to work with participants in a way that is very different from a treating provider. However, our Guides must be able to artfully blend coaching skills with a strong foundational health literacy to help fill educational gaps to empower participants to live fully in a world where chronic illness does not define them.
