Responsible for supervising the lab pack field team and the facility retail/lab pack depacking team and is responsible for the safe and efficient packaging, handling, and processing of retail and lab pack waste at the Clean Earth facility.  Ensures the teams consistently meet regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a productive and profitable manner in accordance with Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manages all aspects of the lab pack field team including hiring, training, development, and performance in accordance with HR policies and practices.

• Coordinate lab pack field projects as needed that may include high hazard services, HHW, or any business-related needs.

• Manages the team responsible for the de-packing of lab pack and retail waste including all reactives, cylinders and specialty waste.

• Acts as a technical resource for the team as well as customer service and sales.

• Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.

• Submits lab pack consolidation sheets to end disposal facilities for approval.

• Works with management team to implement, update, and develop standard work practices.

• Ensures appropriate paperwork is completed and data is entered correctly in system including manifest and land disposal restriction forms.

• Assists in ensuring that the plant meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a safe, productive, and profitable manner.  Ensures compliance with all program objectives.

• Performs periodic audits and review of inbound containers and provides feedback to appropriate management group.

•  Administers all Clean Earth Company policies and procedures, communicates to staff and when necessary, ensures compliance.

• Support sales department in the implementation of new accounts, presentation of services, response to inquiries and technical information.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

Basic Requirements:

• Associate College degree in area of General Science or equivalent experience

• Two or more years of field management experience

• Two or more years of experience in lab packing, segregating pharmaceutical waste, chemical service specialist or as a truck driver

• Valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements:

• BS/BA in science related field​​​​​

• Hazardous waste processing experience

• Willingness to accept ownership of controlled pharmaceuticals on behalf of Clean Earth.

• The ability to properly classify controlled substances by DEA guidelines

• Experience with, and a general knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and DEA Regulations as they relate to waste characterization and the transportation of hazardous waste

• Knowledge of computer software applications including MS Office Suite

• Willingness and ability to travel via automobile and commercial airline up to 25% with occasional overnight travel

• Must be able to regularly access and use general office equipment including phones, computers, copiers, etc.

• Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting work environment that is generally climate controlled.

This position requires a CDL B to be obtained within a 6-month period from your start date. Failure to obtain a CDL B within the 6-month period will mean you are no longer eligible for the Lab Pack Manager position.

This position is also contingent upon successful completion of a DOT physical, DOT Drug Screen and any other DOL or company requirements.
