Johnson Law Group is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Mass Tort division in our Houston office.
We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented legal professional who can independently manage complex casework and litigation-related responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for an experienced paralegal who demonstrates strong judgment, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable managing cases and projects with minimal oversight.
The Paralegal II will play an integral role in case progression through advanced legal drafting, state and federal court filings, litigation support, client communication, and case management. This individual will also contribute to team effectiveness through knowledge sharing, quality assurance, and support of junior team members.
What You’ll Do
• Case Management & Litigation Support – Independently manage complex case assignments and litigation-related responsibilities, ensuring deadlines, court requirements, and internal procedures are met.
• Legal Drafting & Document Preparation – Draft, review, and prepare complaints, motions, discovery documents, Plaintiff Profile Forms, and other litigation-related materials.
• State & Federal Filing – Prepare and e-file pleadings and other legal documents in state and federal courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable filing requirements and deadlines.
• Case Ownership – Take ownership of assigned cases and projects from execution through completion, proactively identifying next steps and ensuring deliverables remain on track.
• Client Communication – Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, attorneys, and internal partners, providing updates, gathering necessary information, and accurately documenting case-related communications.
• Quality & Compliance – Review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal, procedural, and firm standards while proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
• Project & Process Support – Lead or support special projects, identify opportunities to improve workflows, and contribute to the development of efficient and consistent team processes.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate
• 3-5 years of legal experience in Mass Tort
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and filing legal documents
• Experience with state and federal court filing and e-filing processes
• Strong understanding of legal documentation, litigation procedures, court requirements, and deadlines
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems
