Position Overview:
This position will provide operational support by enabling efficient, high-quality collaboration with external research partners. The external chemistry sourcing and operations specialist will provide scientific and operational support across outsourced research activities. This includes supporting research operations in areas such as chemistry synthesis/invitro biology/reagent provision, ADME/DMPK services, and operational support for PO generation, finance and budget tracking, & helping with sample logistics. This may include coordinating data integration, invoice resolutions, tracking KPI, & business analytics for sourcing and financial data. This role requires a strong scientific foundation in either invitro biology/reagent provision/synthetic organic chemistry or DMPK, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external partners both locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform support tasks related to research operations for ERS, including activities that support ERS business (sourcing/working with CROs/communication/continuous improvement), budget tracking, work with applications to support chemistry operations, and other research operational support
• Write POs, invoice tracking and resolution, financial tracking/analysis for key KPI for different disciplines
• Provide research operations support for ERS team to find creative solutions & efficiencies.
• Generate dashboards to track sourcing activities - work in collaboration with ERS lead
• Coordinate sample logistics and shipments across multiple sites or with external partners
• Write SOPs for various sourcing operations under ERS colleague's guidance
• Track assigned budgets and issue POs across Pfizer portfolio
• Track and maintain FTE mapping at CROs, database entry
• ERS IT tools point of contact, testing, issue resolution, working closely with ERS colleagues on developing/testing upgrades and bug fixes
• Preparation and presentation of CRO performance metrics, including compound flow, cycle time, and reaction number analysis
• May support client store operations as needed for compound inventory management working with the ERS inventory lead.
• Business support/Administrative activities: Organize meetings over multiple global time zone.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in organic chemistry or related scientific discipline such as biochemistry/cell-biology/protein science/DMPK.
• Experience working in a laboratory, research operations, or scientific support environment.

• Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Spotfire and other Microsoft applications
• Familiar with, or ability to quickly learn, Ariba, SharePoint, Signals ELN, GCSW, CART, d360, PCAT, SAP, and other relevant IT tools needed for sourcing operation support.

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of La Jolla, CA OR Groton, CT are encouraged to apply. This will be a 12-month contract, working Monday-Friday on site with the possibility of extending.
