What You'll Do

This role administers core HR programs for a multi-state, retail and e-commerce workforce — spanning leave and ADA claims administration, payroll, training, HR communications and documentation, and cross-functional HR project coordination. This role serves as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and requests, and works under the HR Director to execute day-to-day HR operations with accuracy, consistency, and discretion.

Responsibilities

Leave, Claims & ADA

• Serves as primary system administrator for LOA/STD/PFL (FMLA, State-specific leaves e.g., NY PFL) programs, and partnering with warehouse HR teams on leave management

• Manages the ADA interactive process and accommodation documentation, advising managers on requests and return-to-work plans

Payroll Administration

• Administers weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing

• Processes wage garnishments and support orders accurately, ensuring legal compliance and timely deductions

• Processes special pay requests, including holiday pay, bereavement, and jury duty compensation

Training, Communications & Documentation

• Creates, administers, and tracks completion of company training programs, including required compliance training

• Drafts, creates, and distributes all company-wide communications from HR, including employee milestone updates (birthdays, work anniversaries)

• Designs and maintains polished internal HR materials (e.g., one-pagers, manuals, SOPs, and presentations) across benefits, policies, and other HR programs.

Program Coordination & Operations

• Coordinates project plans, timelines, meeting materials, and stakeholder follow-up, tracking action items to ensure timely completion of deliverables across HR initiatives

• Processes HR purchase orders in partnership with accounting

• Serves as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and requests, including employment verification

What Will Help You Thrive

• 5-7 years of progressive HR generalist experience

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law, including FMLA, ADA, state leave programs (e.g., PFML/PFL), and wage and hour requirements

• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; ADP WFN experience a plus

• Expert-level proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, including pivot tables, data validation, sheet linking, Power Automate, and mail merge

• Instructional design and document-creation skills, with the ability to produce polished one-pagers, manuals, SOPs, and presentations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High degree of discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential employee information

• Strong organizational and project-management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

This role requires three on-site days weekly to ensure in-person collaboration, improved communication, effective teamwork, and real-time problem solving to enhance team synergy and productivity. A standard 40 hour work week is expected.

Pay range for this role:

$90,000—$100,000 USD
